My name is Laura Rodrigue

I'm a wedding, portrait, family, & sports photographer, living in Turner, Maine. I have been studying the art of photography intensely for three years. I have been mentoring with an established wedding photographer and a portrait & sports photographer. I am married to my Jr. High School sweetheart and we have two amazing dogs.

I have been married for 7 years. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and believe that the time we spend together is the most important thing in life.

Photography is time consuming but I love everything about it! This is time spent away from my friends and family, which is why I consider those I get to work with, members of my extended family!

Portrait Photography Mentorship

I have mentored under a sports and portrait photographer for about a year and a half. I started my mentorship with her during the winter cheerleading season of 2022. She brought me to a cheerleading event and allowed me to capture to the best of my ability. In reviewing my work, she offered feedback and suggestions on how to photograph more effectively. Over the course of the season, I started taking on my own clients. I then had the opportunity to manage those relationships and photo deliveries on my own. I even had the opportunity to photograph one team's individual and team photos at the end of their season. Over the summer, I worked with this photographer to learn more about family photography and portrait photography. In attending these sessions with her, I was able to begin my external lighting journey. She scheduled a mermaid session and allowed me to take point. I have grown so much in working with her. I have completely changed my editing process to ensure that I am delivering the highest quality photos! I appreciate this relationship so much.

Anastasia

At the suggestion of a professor while I was enrolled in the Graphic Communications program at a local college, I contacted Anastasia regarding a potential mentorship. Anastasia created and has built a thriving photography business which includes wedding photography. This is a branch of photography that I have always wanted to join. Over the 2023 summer, I had the opportunity to be Assistant Photographer to Anastasia at two wedding events. After my initial weddings assisting, she offered me the chance to join her as the second photographer. For the remainder of the season, she continued to give me these opportunities resulting in my second shooting a total of 10 weddings my very first season. After reviewing my work, she was able to offer feedback and suggestions in how to effectively capture couple's big day. I primarily shot the groomsmen, venue, and receptions. I can see how much I have grown as an event photographer, not only from start to end of season, but from each event to the next. I appreciate her so much and her willingness to let me retain creative independence while shaping me into a professional member of the community.
